Every day at the same time – 3:15pm – I hear the doorknob jiggle and I run to the front door. 3:15 means it’s time for my man to be home, and let me tell you, I love hugging him first thing when he walks inside.
On Monday evenings, I call my momma at 6:00pm because I’m headed home while she’s finishing up her day two time zones away.
On a certain day in May I send a card in the mail, because birthdays only come around once a year & I think they’re special.
And all of these little moments – these numbers on a clock or days on a calendar – add up to remind me that this life is made of relationships.
Friendships, marriages, families, and acquaintances – our short life here consists of building & growing relationships.
A few months ago, I asked this community about their struggles and hardships over the past year.
And, dear reader, I was blown away by the raw honesty these people shared with me.
Stories of broken relationships flooded in & my heart broke.
Life is messy & relationships are messy.
Divorce is real.
Siblings walk away.
And the list goes on & on & on.
So I sat in front of my computer screen overwhelmed by the hurt so many have experienced. I sat there just praying, asking God how in the world could I ever respond to all the questions, hurts, fears, and ponderings.
God answered with a series. He placed in my heart the desire to host a series on Life of Scoop all about relationships.
I took all of those responses about the relationships & the hurts, and listed them on a sheet of paper. And I asked bold blogging friends to respond to these questions.
“Let’s Talk Relationships” was born.
This series is meaty – full of solid truth about building strong relationships in Christ.
There’s no sugar-coating or shying from the truth. Rather, this series will answer questions like…
How do I love the difficult people in my life?
What about forgiveness? How do I forgive?
What can I do to grow in my relationship with God?
Can I ever be free of the need to people-please?
How do I love my friends, my spouse, and my children well?
How do I handle a family member with mental illness as a Christian?
Is there any hope for healing from a broken marriage?
These are real questions with real answers. And friend? It’s my joy to bring you godly, Christian bloggers from all over to encourage you to build healthy, grace-filled, God-honoring relationships.
Will this series fix your marriage? No.
