How to Make Christmas All about Christ This Season

Christmas is my favorite time of year – white lights and warm sweaters and way too much hot tea. I sit in front of the fireplace next to our humble tree and feel like all is right with the world.

I never want to rush Christmas. Instead, I want to soak it all up and pray that it would never end. But so often, I attribute those feelings to the cozy blankets, long days in PJ’s and cookie-making.

We make Christmas about so many things. Things like cozy PJ's and hot cocoa, gifts and cookies. What if this year we focus on Christ alone? How can our Christmas traditions reflect Him? Here are 8 ways to make much of Christ this Christmas season!

I fail to remember that Christmas is rooted in hope and unconditional love, freedom and sweet peace. We serve a God who broke into the world in human flesh so that we could feel all of those things – the hope, love, freedom, peace.

He came into the world for so much more than stockings and gifts.

He came into the world so that we could live redeemed.

This season – my favorite time of year that is coming all too quickly – I want to remember the real reason for the season. I want to fill my mind with the hope, love, freedom, and peace given to me freely by the God who didn’t have to save my soul in the first place. He wanted to save me, to make me new and loved and forgiven.

How can we remember Him? How can we make Christmas all about Christ this year?

How can we make much of Jesus this holiday season with all of the focus on gifts, trees, cookies, and stockings? Sure, those things are not bad, but we should make sure that our traditions and our celebrations honor Christ - the real reason for the season. Here are eight ways to make much of Christ with your holiday traditions!

Walk with me to Melanie Redd’s blog where I share eight ways to make much of Christ this season with our holiday traditions. Before you head over, I want to tell you that this woman is dear to me. 1. Thank you so much for letting me come aboard. I am a 63 year old grandmother of two. I’m always looking for ways to encourage my family in their walk with Christ. I’m very blessed that my husband and children (including my daughter in law who is one of my children as well) are all believers. I am in two women’s Bible Studies and a women’s prayer group. I’m always looking for ways to share with these wonderful ladies. God Bless as you touch many women for Christ!

  2. So glad I found this blog! It was a perfect time for me to find it with the holidays coming up and with your post “how to make Christmas all about Christ.” I’m trying to raise my kids and teach them how to have a strong relationship with god which is especially hard these days. So thank you & god bless! ❤

    1. I don’t have kiddos yet, but I can only imagine how it must be difficult! I’m so glad you found the blog. Thanks for hanging out here. 🙂
