Surrender & 100 Happy Days [Week #41]

For the past few weeks, I have been utterly exhausted. Like the kind of exhausted that leaves you unable to fall asleep at night because you’re too. crazy. tired.

In all of this fatigue, I was priding myself on the many things I’ve been accomplishing. And then I read Alyssa’s reflection on the story of the feeding of the 5,000.

Here I stand priding myself on being busy, being tired, doing much. And this profoundly simple line from Alyssa’s post stopped me: “We worry that if we surrender something to God, we will somehow go without.”

Oh, how true. It’s difficult to admit, but oh so true. In my busyness, I do not surrender. I strive. And there’s a big difference, is there not?

“God is in the business of multiplication, and He takes what we surrender to Him and multiplies it to use for His glory.” Herein lies the sweet beauty of surrender. It’s not about us. It’s all about the Lord.

Thanks, Alyssa, for sharing your post with us at 100 Happy Days. It blessed me much this week! Feel free to grab the featured button at the end of the post.
